Man Arrested for Indecent Solicitation of a Child in Highland Park

Police said he believed he was meeting a 14-year-old girl for a sexual encounter.

A Chicago man was arrested in Highland Park for indecent solicitation of a child after an ongoing Internet investigation, according to Highland Park police.

Officers arrested 22-year-old Christopher Aaron Brown on April 16 at the Ravinia Metra station. The arrest came after an ongoing Internet investigation in which Brown had communicated with an investigator he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, police said.

He took the train from Chicago to meet her for what he believed to be a sexual encounter, according to police. Statements made by Brown at the time of his arrest linked him to the inappropriate communications.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office has approved the following charges:

indecent solicitation of a child, solicitation to meet a child and sexual exploitation of a child.

Brown was transported to the Lake County Court building, where bond was set at $100,000. He was remanded to the custody of the Lake County Sheriff pending a court appearance on May 1.
