Man Arrested for Unlawfully Possessing Handgun

Unlawful acquisition of controlled substance/identity theft

July 10: Richard Korner (42) of the 4100 block of Cardinal Court, Northbrook was arrested and charged with unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance and Identity Theft –unlawful possession of stolen identification after presenting a fraudulent prescription at a business in the 1500 block of Clavey Road, Highland Park.  Korner was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

July 10: Caralie Noisette (24) of the 2300 block of Hybernia Drive, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, 1 red operable taillight and no registration lamp illuminated after being stopped by police near the intersection of Park Avenue West and Beverly Place, Highland Park.  Noisette was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 9, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 
Unlawful use of weapon

July 10: Joyce Stuesse (44) of the 2400 block of Honey Grove Lane, Knoxville, Tennessee was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon (possessed handgun) and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Stuesse was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 7, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

July 3: Corey Whipps (21) of the 600 block of Onwentsia Avenue, Highland Park was issued an administrative citation for possession of drug paraphernalia with a court date of August 1, 2013 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue after police responded to a public complaint in the 1000 block of Princeton Avenue.

Possession of cannabis

July 3: Eric Hernandez (18) of the 1100 block of Davis Street, Deerfield was issued an administrative citation for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia with a court date of September 1, 2013 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue after police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 1500 block of McDaniels Avenue.

Activity constituting public nuisance

July 13: Samantha Eichner of the 1700 block of Cavell Avenue, Highland Park was cited administratively for activity constituting a public nuisance (hosting an underage party) after police responded to a report of underage drinking and loud noise in the 1700 block of Cavell Avenue, Highland Park. Hallie Schwartz (18) of the 2000  block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park, Salvador Vergara (18) of the 200 block of Washington Avenue, Highwood, Alex Foster (18) of the 100 block of Cary Avenue, Highland Park, Lynette Pesina (18) of the 1500 block of McDaniels Avenue, Highland Park and Daniele Ehrlich (18) of the 100 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park were each issued administrative citations for consumption of alcohol by minor. All of the above subjects were issued a court date of August 1, 2013 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue. 

Driving under the influence

July 14: Maria Morales (23) of the 2200 block of Pearsall Parkway, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Morales was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 16, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Criminal damage to property

July 9: Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that a 6 foot tall privacy fence on church property along the alley in the 400 block of Laurel Avenue was damaged with graffiti between 6:00pm on 06/28/2013 and 5:00pm on 07/07/2013 by unknown subject(s).  The graffiti was done in gold spray paint.

July 9: Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime after 6:00pm 7/8/13, two support columns in the underground parking lot in the 400 block of Laurel Avenue were spray painted. The graffiti was done in gold spray paint.

Residential burglary

July 9: Police are investigating a report of a residential burglary. It was reported that sometime between 10:00am and 3:00pm on 7/9/13, forced entry was made to a back patio door to a residence in the 100 block of Deere Park Court, Highland Park. Jewelry, leather handbags and a 1962 Gibson guitar were reported taken from upstairs bedrooms.

Criminal damage to property

July 9: Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property at the Braeside Train Station. It was reported that a blue sign that says “Braeside” on the platform for inbound trains was spray painted with graffiti.

Theft

July 10: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a "Rigid" brand wench machine and approximately 200 lbs. of steel and aluminum was stolen from a construction site in the 600 block of Glenview Avenue, Highland Park.

Criminal damage to property

July 11: Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that someone had spray painted graffiti on the rear quarter panel of a parked and unoccupied vehicle on 07/09/13 while it was parked in the area of Central Train.

It appeared that black spray paint was used. 

July 12: Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that the trunk of a vehicle was scratched between 06/28/2013 and 07/12/2013. The vehicle was parked in an unlocked garage that is shared with other units. A screen door was also damaged between 06/12/13 and 07/12/2013. The bottom metal portion was dented. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road.

July 12: Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that between 4:30pm and 6pm on 7/12/2013, a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta was vandalized while parked in a lot in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. The vehicle was scratched on all four doors and expletives were scratched into the hood of the vehicle.

Burglary to motor vehicle

July 13: Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that two vehicles were burglarized in the parking lot immediately to the east of Red Oak School. A white Buick SUV had the passenger side rear window broken out. The second vehicle, a black Mitsubishi SUV had the driver's side front window broken out. A black Givenchy leather purse was taken from the front seat floor area. Inside the purse were numerous credit cards, IL DL, other ID cards, and keys. Both victims were attending a baseball game at a nearby field. The incident occurred between 10:05am and 10:33am.

Theft

July 13: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that between 3:45pm and 4:30pm a Black Verizon iPhone 4 with a pink rubber case was taken while it was left unattended and out in plain view at the aqua park in the 1200 block of Fredricksons Place, Highland Park. 

July 13: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a phone and twenty dollar bill was taken between 4:45pm and 5:40pm. Said phone was a black sprint iPhone 4 with no case. The phone and twenty were left unattended at the aqua park in the 1200 block of Fredricksons Place, Highland Park. 

Residential burglary

July 14: Police are investigating a report of a residential burglary. It was reported that an unforced entry residential burglary to apartment occurred sometime between 6:00pm on 7/13/13 and 4:00pm on 7/14/13. Taken was cash and a HP laptop computer. The burglary occurred in the 400 block of Roger Williams Avenue, Highland Park. 

Burglary to motor vehicle

July 14: Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that the passenger side window was broken out of a Nissan SUV and a purse was stolen.The victims was playing catch in a nearby park. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Red Oak Lane.
