Man Arrested for Using Brass Knuckles

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft under $500

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that on December 18, 2012 four iPads and a diamond necklace were taken from a residence while the homeowner had workmen in the residence. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Linden Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of theft. A black iPhone was taken from a shoe in the basketball court room at a business located in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that between 3:50 p.m. and 4:26 p.m. on January 12, 2013 an unknown subject removed a green 6 foot Werner step ladder from behind the bushes in front of a residence in the 300 block of Moraine Road, Highland Park.

Possession of cannabis

A minor was cited administratively for possession of cannabis after police on routine patrol stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Central Avenue and Hickory Street, Highland Park for expired registration. The minor was cited and released with an administrative court date of Feb. 21, 2013 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. 

Stolen auto

Police are investigating a delayed report of an auto theft. A white Ford F450 dump truck was taken sometime on Dec. 30, 2012 while it was parked at a business located in the 1500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that there two areas of graffiti on the pedestrian overpass near Old Skokie Road, Highland Park. The first at the far east end, black marker written in letters about 7" tall and the second on the west end, approx 45' long, written in black spray paint. Neither appeared to be gang related. 

Police are investigating a report of a delayed criminal damage to property. It was reported that unknown person(s) threw eggs on a vehicle which was parked on the driveway in the 2000 block of Clavey Road, Highland Park between Jan. 5 at 10 p.m. and Jan. 6 at 2 a.m. and also on the exterior wood trim located on the north side of residence.

Driving under the influence

Courtney Queeney, 34, of the 200 block of Park Avenue, Lake Forest was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue, Highland Park.  Queeney was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of January 25, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Unlawful use of a weapon

Edgar Lopez, 29, of the 200 block of Tenth Street, Wheeling  was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration and unlawful use of a weapon (brass knuckles) after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Lopez was released on a cash bond with a court date of February 6, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Burglary to motor

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that four trailers parked in the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road were forcibly entered by cutting or prying off their locks. The incident occurred between Jan. 11 at 4:30 p.m. and Jan. 12.  Small power tools were taken.

Theft over $500

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported three rings were taken from a dresser drawer in a bedroom on Jan. 10 while two different home service workers were in the residence. The incident occurred in the 800 block of North Avenue, Highland Park.
