Man Pleads Guilty to Exposing Himself at Walker Bros.

Lake Forest resident urinated near cashier area of Highland Park restaurant.

A Lake Forest man who was arrested after he restaurant in Highland Park last month agreed to plead guilty in exchange for probation Thursday in Lake County Circuit Court.

Lawrence Kinnucan, 59, was originally charged with obstruction of justice, disorderly conduct and theft of services for less than $500, according to Assistant Lake County State’s Attorney Steve Scheller. The obstruction count is a felony and the others are misdemeanors.

When Kinnucan was confronted March 28 for failing to pay for his meal, he exposed himself and urinated on the area near the cash register, the Highland Park police reported. When questioned, he gave police a false name and address, Sheller said.

Kinnucan pleaded guilty to the theft charge before Lake County Circuit Court Judge Raymond Collins. The disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice claims were dismissed.

Deputy Lake County State’s Attorney Mike Hannigan told Collins about the details of the agreement.

“He has agreed to one year probation,” Hannigan said. “He can have no contact with Walker Brothers and [he must] be open to mental health treatment.”

Collins accepted the agreement reached between Hannigan and Kinnucan's attorney, Ali Stender of the Lake County Public Defender’s Office. The judge explained to Kinnucan he could spend a year in the county jail and be fined $2,500 if he violates his probation.

“If you don’t take your medicine you’re going to be right back in jail,” Collins said. “Do you understand?”

"Yes,” Kinnucan said. “I want to get out of jail today.”

When Kinnucan appeared in court for a status hearing April 7, was questioned, according to Sheller.
