Man Rescued From Water After Crash

A man was rescued from a car partially submerged in water just north of Deerfield High School today after the vehicle collided with another on Waukegan Road, according to Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District Lt. Ray Larson.

The two cars collided in front of 2151 Waukegan Road, one went into a pond and was partially submerged, according to Larson. The fire fighters had to remove a door of the car to remove the driver.

The driver of the car in the pond was conscious and unaware of his injuries, according to Larson. Both drivers were transported to the Highland Park Hospital emergency room. The damage to both vehicles was moderate.

The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District was assisted by the Deerfield Police Department, Bannockburn Police Department and the Lake Forest Fire Department.
