Minor Charged with Possession of Controlled Substance

Theft under $500

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that an HTC One cell phone was left behind at a business in the 800 block of Central Avenue. The phone was recovered and placed in the lost and found at the business on 12/18/12 at 5:00pm and on 12/22/12 at 12:00pm the phone was discovered missing. 

Driving under the influence

Maurice Harris, 29, of the 2300 block of Jerome, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage after police responded driving complaint in the 2300 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Harris was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of January 11, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Doug Kessel, 36, of the 200 block of Hastings Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, and illegal U-turn in the 1900 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park. Kessel was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of January 11, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

William A. Sachs, 48, of the 200 block of Elm Court, Northbrook was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, traffic signal violation and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by the police at Green Bay Road and Oakwood Avenue, Highland Park.  Sachs was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of January 25, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Disorderly conduct

Arseny S. Shlyapintokh (36) of the 500 block of South Rawlings, Carbondale, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police received a suspicious activity call in the 1800 block of First Street, Highland Park.  Shlyapintokh was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a court date of February 13, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Criminal trespass to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a criminal trespass to motor vehicle.  It was reported that sometime overnight between 11:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. unknown persons entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway.  Items were entered and tossed about in the cars but nothing appears to have been taken.  The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Windsor Road, Highland Park, Illinois.

Speeding, Possession controlled substance

A minor was arrested and charged with driving while speeding, invalid driver’s license, curfew violation and unlawful possession of a controlled substance after being stopped by the police in the 1400 block of Half Day Road, Highland Park.  The minor was processed and transported to Bond Court.
