Missing Highland Park Man's Body Found

45-year-old's body found a month after his canoe capsized in Lake Michigan.

Door County sheriff's officials have told the Chicago Tribune that the body of Highland Park resident Mayur Patel was found Wednesday on the shore of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin.

The 45-year-old The canoe capsized, and the Lisle resident swam to shore while Patel stayed with the canoe.

The search for Patel was aggressive. According to Pioneer Press, it included "the Door County dive team, the Wisconsin state patrol, the state’s Department of Natural Resources, Washington Island Police and Fire and a private air team."

The search continued for more than 15 hours during the three days following the accident, but the return of high winds and waves, coupled with water temperatures around 45 degrees forced crews off the lake.
