Offensive Word Written on Car, Home Under Construction Damaged
A man also stole a GPS, cell phone and a wallet from purses in a business' break room in this edition of the Highland Park Police blotter.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
An unknown vehicle became stuck and tore up the grass in the 1000 block of Park Avenue West at 10:45 p.m. March 24.
Someone damaged the front entrance door and possibly a side window by cracking the glass and scratching the wood with an unknown object between March 24 and 28 at a residence under construction in the 2600 block of Mavor Lane.

Someone damaged a Chevrolet Trailblazer on March 28 between 8:30 a.m. and 7:23 p.m. by keying the vehicle on the driver’s side front and rear doors, passenger side door and writing an offensive word on the hood. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Keats Lane.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft of a "Spider Box" portable power distribution center was taken from a job site in the 800 block of Sheridan Road sometime between Feb. 24 and March 24.
A suspicious male subject entered a business in the 1100 block of Park Avenue West between 3:15 and 4:00 p.m. on March 27 and a Samsung cell phone, Garmin GPS, credit cards and a wallet were taken from purses located in a nearby the break room. Fraudulent charges were later found on the missing credit cards.
THEFT OF LOST OR MISLAID PROPERTY
A brown leather wallet was accidentally left at checkout counter March 25 at 1:15 p.m. The next person in line took the wallet and exited the store. The wallet contained a credit card and cash. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road.
