Police Arrest Eight for DUI in One Week
The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Fernando Mendoza, 29, of Highland Park was arrested Oct. 28 and charged with driving under the influence and open transportation of alcohol after police responded to a report of a subject slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 1500 block of Park Avenue West, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Nov. 22 in Waukegan.
Tirtha Mandal, 27, of North Chicago was arrested Oct. 29 and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road,, according to Highland Park Police reports. She was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Dec. 6 in Waukegan.
John McGhee, 26, of Chicago was arrested Wednesday and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and no valid drivers license after being stopped by police in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Nov. 15 in Waukegan.

Rogelio Lauriano, 27, of Chicago was arrested Friday and charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control device after police responded to driving complaint in the 1700 block of Skokie Valley Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Dec. 123in Waukegan.
Cynthia Acuna, 23, of Gurnee was arrested Saturday and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and no valid drivers license after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. She was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Nov. 22 in Waukegan.

Angel Avila-Gonzalez, 35, of Highwood was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence 3rd offense class 2 felony, improper lane usage, driving while license suspended for DUI enhanced class 4 felony and driving while license suspended for DUI after being stopped by police near Park Avenue West and Sheridan Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was transported to the Lake County Jail pending a court hearing.
Richey Cortez, 25, of Chicago was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Nov. 22 in Waukegan.
Luis Santana, 23, of Gurnee was arrested Monday and charged with driving under the influence and resisting a peace officer. Police located a suspicious vehicle occupied by two individuals sleeping while parked and running in the middle of the road in the 1700 block of Clavey Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Dec. 6 in Waukegan.
