Police Blotter: $11,000 in Landscaping Gear Stolen With Trailer
Arrest in traffic altercation is among Friday's reported incidents.
The Highland Park Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Motor vehicle theft
Police are investigating the reported theft of a 2001 Ford F450 and a 2002 Wells Cargo trailer. The vehicle and trailer were parked in the 2600 block of Waukegan Avenue and were stolen between 12 p.m. Aug. 27 and 6:53 p.m. Aug. 28. The trailer contained about $11,000 worth of landscaping tools and equipment.

Theft of services
Eason Carzell Jr., 24, of the 900 block of 19th Street in Zion, was arrested and charged with theft of labor and services after police were called to the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue. He was released on bond, and has a court date of Oct. 12.

Arrest in traffic altercation
Michael J. Ecklund, 51, of the 4500 block of West Irving Park Road in Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property after police were called to a traffic altercation near the intersection of Park Avenue West and Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond, and has a court date of Sept. 28.
Disorderly conduct arrest
Jose E. Godinez, 21, of the 1800 block of Grove Avenue in Berwyn, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police were called to a disturbance in the 400 block of Skokie Valley Road. Godinez was released on bond, and has a court date of Sept. 14.
Driving while license suspended
Milan Cura, 56, of the 2000 block of Avers Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and a taillight violation after police stopped his vehicle near the intersection of Central Avenue and Hickory Street. He was released on bond, and has a court date of Sept. 14.
Driving under the influence
Jose Zamora, 20, of the 300 block of Greenview Drive in Park City, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police were called to a single vehicle rollover accident in the 1500 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond, and has a court date of Sept. 16.
Reckless driving
Eric Cannon, 27, of the 500 block of Broad Street in Lake Geneva, WI, was arrested and charged with speeding 40 mph or more above the limit, reckless driving and improper lane usage after police pulled over his vehicle in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway. He was released on bond, and has a court date of Sept. 28.
