2 Charged With Intent to Deliver Drugs

Chicago man released on bond in battery case also in this week's police reports.

The Highland Park Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Burglary

Police are investigating an auto burglary that happened between 5 p.m. July 2 and 8 a.m. July 5 in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a burglary in which copper piping, a furnace and a jack hammer were stolen between 5 p.m. July 1 and 10 a.m. July 4 in the 1000 block of Lake Cook Road, Highland Park.

Theft

Police are investigating the theft of a truck tire that occurred between June 30 and July 1 in the 1600 block of Old Skokie Road, Highland Park.

Battery

Daniel J. Lane, 40, of the 2400 block of West Iowa Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery after police were called to the 200 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. He was released on a recognizance bond, and has a court date of July 25 in Waukegan.

Criminal damage

Police are investigating criminal damage in which a window was broken in the 700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.

Driving under the influence

Isaiah L D. Martin, 20, of the 2700 block of Glenflora Avenue in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with no headlights or taillights and having no valid driver’s license. He was cited after police stopped his vehicle in the 800 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. He was released on bond, and has a court date of Aug. 5.

Nancy J. Cohen, 48, of the 1000 block of Linden Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license and having no insurance after her vehicle was stopped by the police in the 1100 block of Linden Avenue, Highland Park. She was released on bond, and has a court date of July 27.

Misael Silva, 43, of the 800 block of Central Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, having no valid driver’s license and illegal transportation of alcohol. Police pulled over his vehicle at Temple Avenue and Logan Street, Highland Park. He was released on bond, and has a court date of Aug. 5.

Possession with intent to deliver

Two 23-year-olds from Highland Park were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of cannabis. 

Joshua C. Oiken, of the 800 block of Old Trail, and Anthony A. Hefferman, of the 3000 block of University Avenue, were taken into custody after police were called to the 3000 block of University Avenue, Highland Park, regarding a report of suspicious activity.

Both men were transported to bond court.
