Police Blotter: Cannabis Possession and Laptop Theft

Also four reports of driving with suspended licenses in this week's police report.

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Driving while license suspended

Leticia Servin, 28, of the 26200 block of North Highway 83 in Mundelein, was arrested and charged with driving despite having a suspended license and having no insurance in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West.  She was released on bond with a court date of April 27.

Ruben Perez-Gomez, 26, of the 1400 block of Lincoln Place in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving despite having a suspended license and having no insurance. Police stopped his vehicle at Green Bay and Edgewood roads. He was released on bond with a court date of April 27.

Courtney S. McClain, 22, of the 12600 block of Maple Avenue, Blue Island was arrested and charged with driving despite having a suspended license and speeding in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road. She was released on bond with a court date of April 13.

Elizabeth Y. Cruz, 26, of the 14000 block of West Fullerton Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving despite having a suspended license and speeding in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road. She was released on bond with a court date of April 13.

Driving under the influence

Deborah V. Riley, 53, of the 200 block of Western Avenue in Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, driving with an expired driver's license, speeding and disobeying a traffic control device. Police stopped her vehicle in the 1200 block of Half Day Road. She was released on bond with a court date of April 18.

Theft

Police are investigating the theft of items including cash, a laptop and an iPad last month in the 1100 block of Park Avenue in Highland Park.

Police took a delayed report on March 8 about the theft of a jacket and dash- mounted GPS device in the 400 block of Vine Avenue in Highland Park. 

Possession of cannabis

Joshua T. Mint, 18, of the 100 block of Red Oak Lane in Highland Park, was charged with possession of cannabis, disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer. He was arrested in the 100 block of Red Oak Lane. Mint was released on bond with a court date of April 1.

Joshua A. Nieto, 21, of the 300 block of Ashland Avenue in Highwood, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and disorderly conduct in the 100 block of Red Oak Lane in Highland Park. He was released on bond with a court date of April 1.
