Police Blotter: Car Egged; Cannabis Possession Arrest

The Highland Park Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Criminal damage

Police are investigating criminal damage to a motor vehicle that was pelted with eggs in the 1900 block of First Street, Highland Park.

Police are investigating criminal damage to a door in the 400 block of Roger Williams Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the criminal damage that involved scratch mark on a vehicle in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Driving under the influence

Shannon M. Lahey, 28, of the 1700 block of Barnhill Drive in Mundelein, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police stopped her vehicle in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway, Highland Park. She was released on bond, and has a court date of Aug. 5.

Frank N. Nimesheim, 67, of the 1100 block of Pine Oaks Circle in Lake Forest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after his vehicle was stopped by the police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. He was released on bond, and has an Aug. 26 court date.

Possession of cannabis

Calvin G. O. Podd, IV, 18, of the 100 block of High Holborn in Lake Forest, was  arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over his vehicle in the 3100 block of Deerfield Place, Highland Park. He was released on bond and given a court date of July 15.

Theft

Police are investigating the theft of a cell phone in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the theft of a wallet in the 500 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the theft of an iPhone in the 1900 block of First Street, Highland Park.

Marco Saldana, 18, of the 300 block of Temple Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with theft and underage consumption of alcohol after police were called to the 3000 block of Chatfield Drive, Highland Park. He was released on bond, and has a court date of July 26.

Police are investigating the theft of a wicker love seat overnight in the 800 block of Pleasant Avenue, Highland Park.

Driving while license revoked

Alonso-Perez Felix, 34, of the 640 block of Walnut Street in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with uninsured motor vehicle, driving with a revoked license and failure to yield. Police pulled his vehicle over in the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park. Felix was released on bond, and has a court date of Aug. 10.
