Police Blotter: Domestic Battery

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Domestic battery

Leonardo Alvarado, 37, of the 300 block of Temple Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after police responded to a 911 call in the 300 block of Temple Avenue, Highland Park.  Alvarado was transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Possession of cannabis

Ricky Redd, 26, of the 2000 block of N. Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and no valid registration after being stopped by police in the 1600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Redd was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Brian Nystrom, 20, of the 4400 block of 67th Street East, Bradenton, Florida, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia and Alec Brown, 20, of the 1000 block of Inverrary Lane, Deerfield was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by police in the 300 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Nystrom and Brown were released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 29, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Andrew Gregorski, 19, of the 38000 block of N. Coolidge Avenue, Beach Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 0-10 block of the Edens Expressway, Highland Park. Gregorski was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 29, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Raphael Joly, 20, of the 0-60 block of Village Road, Avon, Colorado, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance after a vehicle Joly was a passenger in was stopped by police near the intersection of Forest Avenue and Sheridan Road, Highland Park. Joly was transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that an unlocked vehicle was entered sometime between 2 p.m. on May 17 and 8 a.m. on May 8. Two wallets were taken. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Johnston Drive, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that an unlocked vehicle was unlawfully entered. A GPS and a black backpack containing clothing was taken. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Johnston Drive, Highland Park, IL. 

Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that an unlocked vehicle was entered sometime between 4:30 pm on May 7 and 6:20 a.m. on May 8. One wallet was taken. The incident occurred in the 0-100 block of Johnston Drive, Highland Park, IL. 

Police are investigating a delayed report of a Burglary to Motor Vehicle. It was reported that an unlocked vehicle was entered sometime between 11:15 pm on 5/8/12 and 6:00 am on 5/9/12.  A woman's cloth purse with the contents dumped out was located nearby with nothing reported taken. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park, IL. 

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a Theft. It was reported that two western union money orders were stolen from a purse left unattended on 5/5/12 between 5:15pm and 5:30 pm. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park, IL. 

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a male subject wearing a green baseball cap and a yellow construction vest over a brown jacket, approached and removed a gas powered trimmer from a landscaping trailer and left the area in a vehicle driven by another male subject. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Cary Avenue, Highland Park, IL. 

Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that an unlocked vehicle was entered sometime between 8:30 pm on 5/9/12 and 7:00 pm on 5/10/12.  Two GPS units were taken. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Highmoor Road, Highland Park, IL. 

Luis Brito-Soto, 24, of the 300 block of Prairie Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with Theft after police responded to a complaint of an individual allegedly entering and attempting to steal a bicycle from a trailer. Brito-Soto was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 27, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Criminal trespass to vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of a Criminal Trespass to Vehicle. It was reported that an unlocked vehicle was entered and rifled through, however nothing was reported taken. The incident occurred in the 0-100 block of Johnston Drive, Highland Park, IL. 

Residential burglary

Police are investigating a report of a Residential Burglary. It was reported that that between 7:30am-9:40pm entry was gained into an apartment where the bedroom and living room area was found tossed.  No signs of force entry.  Taken was a Dell laptop and jewelry. The incident occurred in the 2000 block of St Johns Avenue, Highland Park, IL. 

Feeing and eluding

Jamaan Fripp, 34, of the 900 block of Buccaneer Drive, Glenview, was arrested and charged with Following to Closely and Fleeing/ Attempting to Elude Police after being stopped by police in the 400 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Fripp was released on a cash bond with a court date of June 27, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Driving while license suspended

Manuel Cortes-Ventura, 26, of the 0-30 block of N. Orchard, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with Driving while license suspended and a Seat Belt violation after being stopped by police near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Prairie Avenue, Highland Park. Cortes-Ventura was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 13, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Danielle Sanders, 20, of the 1600 block of Sunset Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Sanders was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 27, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Driving under the influence

Rogelio Reyes-Pintor, 32, of the 1500 block of McDaniels Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and no valid driver’s license after being stopped by police in the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park. Reyes-Pintor was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 8, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Criminal damage to vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to vehicle. It was reported while driving in the area of McCraren Road and Lancelot Avenue Highland Park, a passenger door on an SUV was struck with a BB. 

Driving while license revoked

Fernando Arellanes, 29, of the 800 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, uninsured motor vehicle and seat belt violation after being stopped by police in the 700 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park. Arellanes was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 27, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.
