Police Blotter: Four More Car Burglaries

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary

Justin Daniels, 20, of the 1200 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with burglary from motor vehicle after police were called previously to the 1100 block of Wade Street in Highland Park on Nov. 6 for a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. Daniels was transported to bond court.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a burglary to an unlocked motor vehicle (GPS and Samsung Slide cell phone taken) sometime between Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. and Nov. 6 at 8 a.m., in the 1600 block of McCraren Road, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a burglary to an unlocked motor vehicle (Pink Blackberry cell phone) sometime between Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 in the 1100 Block of Beech Street, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a burglary to an unlocked motor vehicle (Sirius XM radio taken) sometime between Nov. 4, and Nov. 10 in the 1200 Block of Ridgewood Drive, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a burglary to an unlocked motor vehicle (Garmin NUVI GPS and charger, Rayban sunglasses, two flashlights, cell phone charger, Motorola blue tooth earpiece and two credit cards taken) sometime between Nov. 10 at 9:30 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 7:30 a.m., in the 2000 Block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a residential burglary (currency and a small child’s metal safe taken) sometime overnight. Entry was gained through an unlocked rear sliding door in the 100 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.

Theft

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft from motor vehicle (cash) sometime between Nov. 4 around 4 p.m. and Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park, Illinois. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked at the time of the theft.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (miscellaneous clothing items) in the 700 block of Ridge Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (metal box containing cash) in the 700 block of Broadview Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (two framed prints) from an unlocked garage in the 500 block of Washington Place, Highland Park, Illinois.

Driving while license suspended

Darius Anderson, 30, of the 600 block of Kathleen Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and cell phone usage while driving after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Anderson was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 28.

Michelle Gousios, 41, of the 5700 block of Christiana Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and driving without headlights after being stopped by police in the 0-10 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Gousios was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 14.

Rito Maldonado, 46, of the 2300 block of St. Louis Street, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1800 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Maldonado was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 28.

Halehs Henderson, 22, of the 4300 block of Michigan Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Maldonado was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 14 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan.

Criminal damage

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property in the 400 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park. It was reported that an unknown vehicle had driven through a significant patch of poured concrete on a construction project.

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (rear window of vehicle shattered) in the 2000 block of Churchill Lane between the hours of 7:15 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Nov. 9.

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (rear window shattered and the rear taillights also shattered). Other damage included a five inch long dent on the rear driver side corner panel possibly caused by a bat or long blunt object. The damage occurred near the intersection of Berkeley Road and Cloverdale Avenue between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Nov. 9.

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (rear window of vehicle shattered) in the 2100 block of Tennyson Lane between the hours of 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 4:54 a.m. on Nov. 10.

Cus Frangos, 33, of the 8100 block of Knox Street, Skokie, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property after police were called to the 600 block of Elm Place, Highland Park for a report of a subject who had broken a car window to gain entry to a vehicle that was mistaken as his own vehicle. Frangos was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 12.

Possession of cannabis

Andrew Diehn, 26, of the 1200 block of Ridgewood Drive, Highland Park, and Jaview Cano-Osio, 29, of the 200 block of Evolution Avenue, Highwood were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police were patrolling the area of the 0-10 block of Park Avenue, Highland Park. Diehn and Cano-Osio were released on bond with a court date of Dec. 28.

Criminal trespass to vehicle

Police are investigating the delayed report of a criminal trespass to vehicle in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue West, Highland Park. It was reported that the unlocked vehicle was entered, items were moved around and nothing was taken sometime between Nov. 4 at 9 p.m. and Nov. 5 at 9 a.m.

Driving under the influence

Esteban Avecilla, 44, of the 800 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, hit and run, open Transportation of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle, fail to reduce speed to avoid an accident, aggravated driving while license revoked and suspended registration after police were called to a report of a two car accident near the intersection of Central Avenue and Green Bay Road in Highland Park. Avecilla was transported to bond court pending court date.
