Police Blotter: Graffiti Among Property Damage Reports

Several motorists charged with driving while license suspended in Wednesday's blotter.

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Driving while license suspended

Alfredo Roman, 25, of the 2100 block of North Merrimac Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding after the police stopped his vehicle at Central and St. Johns avenues, Highland Park.  He was released on bond with a court date of June 8.

Tamara K. Young-King, 37, of the 8300 block of Hickory Avenue in Gary, IN, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after his vehicle was stopped by the police in the 800 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.  She was released on bond with a court date of June 8.

Karmet D. Cox, 36, of the 800 block of Christiana Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, speeding, improper lane usage and following too closely after police his vehicle in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway, Highland Park. He was released on bond with a court date of June 8.

Criminal damage

Police are investigating criminal damage to a wooden fence that occurred in the 1800 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating criminal damage to property as the result of graffiti that occurred between 2 p.m. May 16 and 1:15 p.m. May 17 in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.

Unlawful possession of stolen vehicle

Corey J. Mlynek, 18, of the 1400 block of 59th Avenue in Cicero, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of stolen vehicle after he was stopped police at Central and St. Johns avenues, Highland Park. He was transported to bond court.

Driving under the influence

Josue Garcia, 25, of the 1300 block of Golf Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and having no valid driver’s license. Police stopped his vehicle in the 2400 block of Green Bay Road,  Highland Park.  He was released on bond with a court date of July 1.
