Laptops, GPS Units Stolen from Cars

Also possession of controlled substance in this week's police report.

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Theft

Police are investigating the report of a theft (gym bag containing clothing, black wallet, several credit cards, rimless eyeglasses, car keys and a Tag Heuer watch with a black face) in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a retail theft (replacement razor blades for Gillette Sensor, Fusion and Mach 3 razors and 10 packages of Abreva lip balm) taken on Sunday, Oct. 9, and again on Oct. 13 in the 600 block of Elm Place, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (iPod) in the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (hood of vehicle had numerous scratches on surface). Sometime between Saturday Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 2:30 p.m., someone vandalized the vehicle while parked in the driveway in the 300 block of Temple Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (window had two holes in the outer pane of glass) damage occurred sometime between Monday Sept. 26 and Monday Oct. 3 in the 1700 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Possession of controlled substance/drug paraphernalia

Georgi Petrov, 30, of the 2200 block of Foster, Chicago, and Evgeni Petrov, 23, of the 5000 block of Sheridan Road, Chicago, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called to a suspicious auto the 1900 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park. Both subjects were transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, pending court dates.

Obstructing a police officer

Marni Slutsky, 39, of the 500 block of Chicago Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with obstructing a police officer and harboring a runaway as police were conducting follow-up on a juvenile case in the 700 block of Red Oak Lane, Highland Park. Slutsky was released on bond with a court date of November 2.

Driving under the influence

Brandy Hintze, 28, of the 800 block of Norman Lane, Wheeling, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lighting (one head light), uninsured motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by police in the 0-50 block of the Edens Expressway in Highland Park. Hintze was released on bond with a court date of Nov. 18.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle where no items were taken. The glove box and the middle console were opened with its contents strewn all over the interior of the vehicle in the 1700 block of Sunset Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle (GPS was taken). Papers in vehicle had also been moved. This incident occurred in the 2800 block of Lexington Lane, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle (cash in an envelope taken) in the 1100 block of Half Day Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle (cash was missing from center console and a silver Sony Cyber Shot camera). This incident occurred in the 2800 block of Lexington Lane, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle (new clothes - 2 long sleeve button down shirts, 1 pants, cologne valued at $1200 and box of Ashton Cigars valued at $250 were taken). This incident occurred in the 2800 block of Lexington Lane, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle (Garmin GPS, a Gray Gateway laptop, and Spirit Cigarettes). This incident occurred in the 1200 block of Lynn Terrace, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle (glove box had been emptied onto the floor and red leather daily planner taken). This incident occurred in the 2500 block of Highmoor Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle (unknown suspect(s) tossed the vehicles center console and took cash from the glove box). This incident occurred in the 1200 block of Lynn Terrace, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle (approximately five music CDs and a plastic change holder with coins missing from the middle console). This incident occurred in the 1200 block of Lynn Terrace, Highland Park.
