Police Blotter: Man Arrested for Residential Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

Pedro Lopez, 30, of the 4500 block of North Harding Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with six counts of theft after police were called to a report of a subject taking envelopes from trash receptacles intended as gifts to trash collection employees. The thefts occurred near the intersection of Kincaid Street and Roger Willliams Avenue and also on Oakwood Avenue, Highland Park. Lopez was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 16.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft. It was reported sometime in the last two weeks various jewelry items were taken from the home.  No forced entry noticed. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Holly Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a theft of four wheels and tires from a vehicle while it was parked in a lot near the intersection of Hazel Avenue and St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. The incident occurred sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Javier Cano-Osio, 30, of the 200 block of Evolution Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with theft after police were called to a report of a theft of an iPod Touch in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.  Cano-Osio was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 11.

Police are investigating the report of a theft. It was reported that two subjects had left an establishment without paying for their meals. The incident occurred in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. 

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that Christmas lights covering bushes had been cut by an unknown party. The damage occurred in the 300 block of Central Avenue between Dec. 20 at 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 21.  

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that the front passenger window of a vehicle had been broken by an unknown party. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle. The damage occurred in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. on the reported date. 

Driving under the influence

Brittany Lemke, 22, of the 600 block of Sheridan Road, Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police responded to a report of a driving complaint in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway, Highland Park.  Lemke was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 13.

Jorge Herrera, 39, of the 200 block of North Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 2100 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.  Herrera was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 20.

Jose Santos-Valencia, 19, of the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, no valid drivers license, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after police responded to the report of a vehicle that struck the wall on the exit ramp of the Edens Expressway and Clavey Road, Highland Park.  Santos-Valencia was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 13, 2012.

Residential burglary

Dean Fabbri, 47, of the 400 block of North Central Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with residential burglary, criminal damage to property, theft from person and domestic battery after police responded to a report of a subject attempting to break into a residence in the 500 block of Onwentsia Avenue, Highland Park. Fabbri was transported to bond court.

Possession of cannabis

Alex Perez, 22, of the 0 to 40 block of East 9th Street, Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, no taillights and no valid drivers license after being stopped by police in the 700 block of Barberry Road, Highland Park. Perez was released on a bond with a court date of Feb. 7, 2012.

Also charged for possession of cannabis was Nicholas Perez-Lash, 18, of the 3000 block of Gideon, Zion. Perez-Lash is expected in administrative court on Jan. 30.
