Police Blotter: Retail Theft Charges; Egged Car

Also stolen cash and license plate in Tuesday's blotter.

The following items are provided by the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Criminal damage

Police are investigating the criminal damage of motor vehicle's windows overnight on June 12 in the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating graffiti that occurred between 4:30 p.m. June 12 and 8:30 a.m. June 13 in the 1500 block of Old Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the theft of a mailbox and its post between 12:30 a.m. June 11 and 11 a.m. June 13 in the 1900 block of Lewis Lane, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the criminal damage to motor vehicle that had its door scratched and antennae broken in the 100 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a criminal damage to motor vehicle that was struck with eggs in the 800 block of Ridge Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a criminal damage to a mailbox in the 600 block of Lotus Avenue, Highland Park. 

Theft

Police are investigating a theft of copper and tools in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a theft of a license plate in the 1300 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a theft in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft of cash between June 10 and 12 in the 2000 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park.

Christian Viorel Bogdan, 19, of the 4000 block of Birch Drive in Gurnee, and Nicholas Andrew Kasmir, 18, of the 2000 block of Summit Avenue in Highland Park, were arrested and charged with retail theft and underage consumption of alcohol.

They were taken into custody after police were called to the 1600 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park, in regards to a report of suspicious activity.

Bogdan and Kasmir were each released on bond and given a court date of July 27.
