Police Blotter: Stolen Calculators, GPS Unit

Also stolen jewelry and cash in this week's police report.

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Burglary

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle, unknown if the vehicle was locked or unlocked (Garmin Nuvi, GPS, cell phone charger, six calculators, miscellaneous work papers, coins). This incident occurred in the 1200 block of Lynn Terrace, Highland Park between Oct. 16 and Oct. 24.

Police are investigating a report of an attempt burglary to residence. The incident occurred between the morning of Oct. 17 and the evening of Oct. 19 in the 300 block of Hazel Avenue, Highland Park.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (back window on vehicle spider cracked) possibly damaged by bb type object in the 500 block of Onwentsia Avenue, Highland Park.

Theft

Police are investigating the report of a theft (multiple jewelry items) in the 300 block of Park Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a Theft (envelope with cash) in the 400 block of Elm Place, Highland Park.

Driving while license suspended

Griselda Harrison, 53, of the 800 block of Euclid Court, Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and improper left turn after being stopped by police in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.  Harrison was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 14 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan.

Mark Daniel, 37, of the 7700 block of Marshfield, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 0-100 block of Edens Expressway, Highland Park.  Daniel was released on bond with a court date of Nov. 23.

Ashwanti Starkey, 22, of the 1700 block of Joppa, Zion, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Starkey was released on bond with a court date of Nov. 23.

Francisco Ramos, 21, of the 4700 block of Schubert, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1700 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Ramos was released on bond with a court date of Nov. 23.

Driving under the influence

Braulio Brizuela, 35, of the 2400 block of Thomas, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, open transportation of alcohol and failure to notify the secretary of state of address change after being stopped by police in the 1500 block of  Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park.  Brizuela was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 2 at 18 North County, Waukegan.

Paget Neave, 31, of the 1500 block of Cullom, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2300 block of Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park. Neave was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 9.

Annette Tapia, 22, of the 700 block of North Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, driving while license revoked, open transportation of alcohol and obstructing traffic after being stopped by police near the intersection of McCraren Road and Park Avenue West in Highland Park.  Tapia was transported to bond court.

Driving while license revoked

Terry Byrd, 28, of the 1200 block of 72nd Street, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Byrd was released on bond with a court date of Nov. 23.
