POLICE BLOTTER: Smorgasbord of DUI Arrests
Following too closely, speeding and not leaving your headlights illuminated as required after being curbed by the cops are just a few of the reported mishaps in Highland Park.
The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
MONDAY FEBRUARY 24
Carting Open Alcohol, Multiple Citations
Herik Ramirez, 23, of the 2500 block of Waukegan Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, no valid drivers license and disobeying a traffic control device after being stopped by police near the intersection of Half Day Road and Western Avenue around 12:04 a.m. Ramirez was released after posting a cash bond with a court date of March 21 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.

Following Too Closely While License Suspended
Martin Batrez, 39, of the 2500 block of Monitor Avenue in Chicago was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and following too closely after being stopped by police in the 3000 block of Skokie Valley Road around 4:33 a.m. Batrez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of March 12 in Park City.

Two Lights Illuminated
Cecilia Fell, 62, of the 900 block of Deerfield Road was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in the 1600 block of Hickory Street around 2:10 a.m. She was also cited for not leaving her headlights illumination as required after being curbed by police. Fell was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of March 14 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
Open Alcohol and Cannabis
Sharissa Tobias, 25, of the 1400 block of Hickory Street in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, unlawful possession of cannabis, disobeying a stop sign, possession of drug paraphernalia, open transportation of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. Tobias was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of March 28 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
