Theft

Police are investigating the report of a theft. Cash was removed from a purse in an unlocked drawer. The theft occurred in the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park.  

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft. Cash was removed from a purse in an unlocked drawer on Nov. 29 between 7:50 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. The theft occurred in the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park.  

Dominique Dawson, 18, of the 1300 block of Cavell Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with theft after police investigated the report of a stolen iPhone. Dawson was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 11.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft (65 gallon green garbage can) sometime between Dec. 9 at 8 a.m. and Dec. 10. The theft occurred in the 900 block of Half Day Road, Highland Park.  

Motor vehicle theft

Police are investigating the report of a motor vehicle theft. It was reported that an unknown subject stole a white 2005 Ford F-350 diesel pickup truck between Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 5 at 9:15 a.m.  The theft occurred in the 2900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Residential burglary

Police are investigating the report of a residential burglary where a door was forced open and no items were taken. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park.  

Driving while license suspended

Christopher Ganschow, 46, of the 300 block of Bloom Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, expired registration, uninsured motor vehicle and improper passing after being stopped by police in the 600 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park. Ganschow was released on a bond with a court date of Jan. 25. His license was reinstated.

Cristian Mijangos-Diaz, 27, of the 600 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Vine Avenue, Highland Park. Mijangos-Diaz was released on bond with a court date of Dec, 28.

Garrick Turner, 21, of the 10000 block of Princeton Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and uninsured motor vehicle after police responded to a report of a car that spun out and struck a light pole in the 700 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Turner was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 11, 2012.

Kevin Williams, 25, of the 3900 block of Congress Parkway, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Williams was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 25, 2012.

Driving under the influence

Cassius Callahan, Jr., 27, of the 1000 block of Adams Street, North Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended for DUI and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 1400 block of Park Avenue in Highland Park. Callahan was transported to bond court.
