Police Blotter: Stolen Cell Phones, Snowplow

Also an egged house in this week's police report.

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Theft

Police are investigating the report of a theft of a 4G, 16 GB iPhone in the 200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (red, eight foot Western uni-mount snowplow) between 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 28 in the 1400 block of Old Skokie Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (Samsung Flight 2 AT&T cell phone) near the intersection of McNair Street and Patten Road, Highland Park.

Suspicious activity

Police are investigating the report that six vehicles parked in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road had what appeared to be purple and green paint on the cars.  The paint was round dots the size of quarters that looked like paintball's that had struck the vehicles. The incident occurred sometime between 4:00pm-8:55pm on Sept. 26.

Criminal damage

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (two pellet like holes in a window pane) in the 700 block of Stone Gate Drive, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to Property (aggregate, cement drinking fountain that had been turned over on its side) in the 1800 block of Sunset Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (eggs thrown at house) in the 1300 block of Hiawatha Court, Highland Park.

Driving under the influence

Brianna Luken, 30, of the 3000 block of Murphy Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by police on Patten Road in Highland Park.  Luken was transported to bond court at 18 North County, Waukegan pending court date.

Tina Apter, 40, of the 1800 block of Richfield Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, disobeying a red light, improper lane usage and driving without headlights illuminated after being stopped by police in the 1000 block of  Park Avenue, Highland Park. Apter was released on bond with a court date of Oct. 21.

Jose Mendoza, 30, of the 1400 block of Cavell Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended, failure to signal lane change and speeding after being stopped by police near the intersection of Arbor Avenue and Berkeley Road, Highland Park.  Mendoza was released on bond with a court date of Oct. 28.

Jacob Davies, 18, of the 6500 block of Spring Meadow Lane, Racine, Wisconsin, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, consumption of alcohol by minor and improper lane usage after police responded to a report of a driving complaint in the 800 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Davies was released on bond with a court date of Oct. 28.

Augustin Sanchez, 55, of the 5800 block of Campbell Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage after police responded to a report of a driving complaint near the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Sanchez was released on bond with a court date of Oct. 28.

Lurenzo Davis, 33, of the 2600 block of Yeomen, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, driving while license suspended and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 3400 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Davis was released on bond with a court date of Nov. 4.

Driving while license suspended

Eduardo Figueroa-Rodriguez, 37, of the 400 block of Sussex Court, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to stop at stop Sign after being stopped by police near the intersection of Kent Avenue and Summit Avenue in Highland Park.  Figueroa-Rodriguez was released on bond with a court date of Oct. 26.
