Police Blotter: Stolen Christmas Decorations

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Warrant

Justin Daniels, 21, of the 1200 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested on a burglary warrant from Highwood Police after being stopped by police on routine patrol in the area of Michigan Avenue and Trillium Lane, Highland Park. Daniels was transported to Bond Court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary. It was reported an unknown entered an unsecured garage through an unlocked side door and stole Christmas decorations and and dishware. The burglary occurred between 9 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. on May 21 in the 0-50 block of Lakeside Place, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that an unknown person entered an unsecured garage and took a purse which was in the back seat of a vehicle. A red leather purse, containing a gold bracelet, necklace with circle, wallet containing a drivers license and five credit cards was taken. The incident occurred in the 0-50 block of Turnbull Woods Court, Highland Park.

While police were investigating the theft of a trailer, it was reported that an unknown person forcibly entered a black Chevy Tahoe by prying the front passenger door. A silver dollar was taken along with a trailer hitch. The incident occurred in the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road , Highland Park. 

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that an unknown person stole a large restaurant style stainless steel kettle from a driveway between May 17 at 4:30 p.m. and May 18, 2012 at 6 a.m. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Midland Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that on April, 17 an unknown subject in a White pick up truck with unknown license plate removed a 35 year old Cement mixer from a vehicle yard in the 2600 block of Waukegan Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that an unknown person stole a "rusty brown" "Haul-A-Fame" open car trailer from a parking lot in the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. The incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on May 21, 2012 and 8:30AM on May 22, 2012.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that sometime between Sunday, May 20, 2012 and Monday, May 21, 2012, unknown persons removed and stole a path light fixture from the ground in the 900 block of Thackeray Drive, Highland Park, Illinois.

Criminal damage to vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to vehicle. It was reported between May 20, 2012 at 8 p.m. and May 21 at 6:45 a.m. unknown subject slashed the drivers side front and rear tires of a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1000 block of Princeton Avenue, Highland Park.

Driving under the influence

Kevin Trabert, 24, of the 1100 block of Foster Avenue, Lake Bluff, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, disobeying a traffic control device and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 3300 of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Trabert was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 22, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Juan Contreras, 45, of the 400 block of Ellridge Circle, Highland Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police responded to a report of a vehicle that had struck a stop sign and a utility pole near the intersection of Clavey Road and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Contreras was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 15, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.
