Police Blotter: Stolen Diamond Ring, Copper Gutters

Retail theft
Police are investigating the delayed report of a retail theft. It was reported that on March 7 between 7:13 a.m. and 7:22 a.m., a male white suspect entered a store wearing a backpack on his back and went to the liquor department. The suspect removed 17 bottles of alcohol from the shelves and placed them in a shopping cart and left the store. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.
Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported there was some indiscernible graffiti approximately two feet tall and six feet wide on a garage in the 2400 block of Green Bay Rd. The graffiti was in black spray paint and appeared to be fresh, though dry to the touch. It was discovered at approximately 7:45 a.m. on March 12. A similar incident was noted in the 500 block of Michigan Avenue, Highland Park.
While police were investigating a similar incident of criminal damage to property, it was reported graffiti that consisted of an indiscernible one square foot area of print on a south wall of a home and a 3ft by 5ft indiscernible section of block lettering on the east wall was discovered in the 500 block of Michigan Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported sometime between 6 p.m. on March 14, 2012 and 8:30 a.m. on March 15, 2012 unknown persons damaged the passenger side rear door of a vehicle. The damage consisted of an “X” scratched into it along with additional miscellaneous scratches. It is uncertain where the damage occurred but could have been in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park while the vehicle was parked unattended.
Driving while license suspended
Anthony Quinones, 25, of the 3000 block of South Central Park, Chicago, was arrested and charged with Driving while license Suspended after being stopped by police in the 2200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Quinones was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 25 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
Maria Cortes, 46, of the 5300 block of West Wellington Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 1400 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Cortes was released on a cash bond with a court date of April 11, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
Jason Elroy, 25, of the 3000 block of North Kenneth, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, speeding, uninsured motor vehicle and unlawful transportation of open alcohol after being stopped by police in the 3100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Cortes was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 11, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
Leslie Nunez, 26, of the 2000 block of Greystem Circle, Gurnee, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped by police near the intersection of Half Day Road and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Nunez was released on a cash bond with a court date of April 27, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
Julio Rivera, 48, of the 1000 block of Massena Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with Driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1700 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Rivera was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 11, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
Driving under the influence
Sabino Giles-Rogue, 34, of the 1400 block of North Keeler, Chicago, was arrested and charged with improper lane usage, driving while license suspended, cell phone restrictions, operating uninsured motor vehicle and driving under the influence after being stopped by police in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Giles-Rogue was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 20, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.
Peter Zielinski, 30, of the 33800 block of West Wrightwood, Chicago, was arrested and charged with improper lane usage, driving while license suspended, driving under the influence, unlawful possession of hypodermic needles, attempted unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a driving complaint in the 3100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Zielinski was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 20, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.
Joseph Oliphant, 26, of the 2100 block of Sheridan Road, Evanston, was arrested and charged with speeding, improper lane usage and driving under the influence after being stopped by police in the 3400 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Oliphant was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 27, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.
Albert Kiplimo Rutto, 25, of the 3000 block of Green Bay Road, Great Lakes, was arrested and charged with improper lane usage, driving under the influence, and speeding after being stopped by police near the intersection of Parkside Drive and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Rutto was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 20, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.
Theft
Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft of a diamond ring missing from an apartment in the 400 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park sometime between March 1, 2012 at 11:50 a.m. and March 11, 2012 at 12:00 p.m.
Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft of $6,000 worth of copper gutters stolen sometime between March 12, 2012 at 4:30pm and March 13, 2012 at 7 a.m. in the 100 block of Belle Avenue, Highland Park.
Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft of an eight year old Murray brand 10hp, 29”, black and white snow thrower from an unsecured garage sometime between mid February and March 14, 2012 in the 1900 block of Lake Avenue, Highland Park.
Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft from a construction site of four six-inch cast iron fittings for a drain. The items were left on the side of the road on March 11, 2012 and found missing early on March 14, 2012 near the intersection of Lake Avenue and Prospect Avenue, Highland Park.
Police are investigating a report of a theft. Sometime between 3 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on March 18, unknown subjects stole a patio set and two, 50 pound stone planters from the back yard of a residence in the 1800 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.
Possession of cannabis
Jasmine Flores, 19, of the 700 block of Pleasant Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police responded to a complaint of suspicious activity in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue, Highland Park. Flores was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 11, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
Consumption of alcohol by minor
Cody Pantle, 19, of the 1200 block of Ridgewood Avenue, Highland Park, was issued administrative citations for Consumption of alcohol by minor, possession of alcohol by minor, possession of cannabis and activity constituting a public nuisance after police were called to a noise complaint in the 1200 block of Ridgewood Road, Highland Park. Also cited was Alex Dub, 18, of the 400 block of Oakland Drive, Highland Park for consumption of alcohol by minor and possession of alcohol by a minor. Both Pantle and Dub are expected in administrative court on April 19, 2012 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.
