Police Blotter: Stolen Diamond Watch and Jewelry

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Consumption of alcohol by a minor

Marco Saldana, 18, of the 300 block of Temple Avenue, was issued an administrative hearing ticket for underage consumption of alcohol at Temple and St. Johns avenues. His hearing is May 19.

Driving under the influence

Andrea V. S. Damore, 24, of the 400 block of Barberry Road, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police stopped her vehicle in the 500 block of Skokie Valley Road.  She was released on bond with a court date of May 6.

Driving while license suspended

Jose Garduno-Vargas, 19, of the 100 block of 23rd Avenue in Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, speeding and two warrants for failing to appear in court. Police stopped his vehicle at Iris Lane and Lincolnwood Road. He was released on bond and transported to the Lake County sheriff's department.

Daniel Cruz-Santiaguillo, 22, of the 600 block of Homewood Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper turn. His vehicle was stopped by police in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road. He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Aaron J. Carroll, 22, of the 1100 block of Lunt Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and disobeying a traffic sign after police pulled over his vehicle in the 700 block of Central Avenue. He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Jesus Alvarez, 19, of the 300 block of Bloom Street, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and a traffic violation after his vehicle was stopped by police in the 1800 block of First Street. He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Yesenia Buenrostro, 21, of the 2900 block of North Parkside Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after police stopped his vehicle in the 1100 block of Central Avenue.  He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Theft

Police are investigating the delayed report of the theft of a diamond watch on April 7 in the 500 block of Hillside Drive.

Burglary

Police are investigating the report of jewelry stolen during a burglary in the 1900 block of Dale Avenue.

Police are investigating the report of a burglary in which cash was taken between 7:10 p.m. April 22 and 7 a.m. April 23 in the 1700 block of First Avenue.

Retail theft

Lyudmila G. Butrovich, 45, of the 300 block of East Jeffrey Avenue in Wheeling, was arrested and charged with retail theft, obstructing a peace officer and obstructing identification. She was taken into custody after police stopped her in the 600 block of Central Avenue. She was released on bond with a court date of May 16.

Criminal damage

Police are investigating the report of criminal damage in which markings were made to a motor vehicle's windows in the 1800 block of Clavey Road.
