Police Blotter: Stolen Ford Pickup Truck

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Motor vehicle theft

Police are investigating the report of a motor vehicle theft (Ford F250 pickup with Red Western Plow) sometime between Nov. 14 at approximately 6 a.m. and Nov. 16 at approximately 6 a.m. in the 1300 block of Park Avenue, Highland Park.

Possession of cannabis

Michael Smith, 24, of the 2400 block of West Grace, Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Smith was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 28.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property (graffiti on tree’s and picnic benches) in the 2600 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.

Theft from motor vehicle

Police are investigating the report of a theft from motor vehicle (rear license plate) in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.

Theft

Mohammad Omair Rashid, 19, of the 2600 block of West Fitch, Chicago, was arrested and charged with theft after police received a report of a credit card that was lost and subsequently used by Rashid. The theft occurred in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Rashid was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 9.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (Weber gas grill) sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Onwentsia Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft of lost property (vehicle keys) in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft of lost property (wallet containing miscellaneous identification and credit cards) in the 200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. An unknown subject attempted to use one of the credit cards and was unsuccessful.

Consumption of alcohol by a minor

James Crane, 18, of the 1000 block of Mount Pleasant, Winnetka, was cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor after police were called to the 1300 block of Ridgewood Avenue for the report of several cars parked on the block making the road difficult to navigate. Approximately 18 juvenile subjects were also involved in the incident. Crane was issued an administrative citation with a court date of Dec. 15.

Police were called to the 400 block of Ashland Place for the report of several juvenile subjects yelling and swearing in the area. Approximately 10 Juvenile subjects were located in the 300 block of Lambert Tree with one juvenile subject found to have consumed alcohol.

Aggravated driving under the influence

Bernina Marbury, 41, of the 1600 block of Kemble Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, driving without headlights, driving while license suspended, obstructing justice and aggravated driving under the influence while suspended for DUI after being stopped by police in the 600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Marbury was transported to bond court.

Alberto Chavez, 23, of the 300 block of Western Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving after police responded to the report of a single car accident in which a vehicle lost control and struck a utility pole in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park.  Chavez was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 9.

Driving while license suspended

Bridgett Hill, 23, of the 600 block of Gayle Court, Wheeling, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.  Hill was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 28.
