Police Blotter: Stolen iPad

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Driving while license suspended

Alfredo Campuzano, 26, of the 6100 block of N. Oakley, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, improper use of registration, uninsured motor vehicle and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Campuzano was released onbond with a court date of Feb. 8.

Jose Hernandez, 28, of the 800 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, improper lane usage, cell phone use while driving and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police near the intersection of Hickory Street and Deerfield Road, Highland Park. Hernandez was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 22.

Reyes Fuentes, 31, of the 600 block of Washington, Lake Bluff, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and failure to properly secure child in seat belt after being stopped by police in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Fuentes was released on bond with a court date of March 28 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Theft

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft. Sometime between Jan. 14 and Jan. 17, unknown persons took currency from a locked file cabinet. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Second Street, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating the report of a theft (black leather purse, wallet containing debit card, currency, driver's license, gift cards, North Face jacket, check book, miscellaneous make-up, car keys and a pair of black gloves made specifically for iPhone use) were taken between 5:30 p.m. and 7:36 p.m. on Jan. 18. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police investigated a delayed report of a theft (currency from an unattended wallet) on Jan. 13. The incident occurred in the 0-55 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. The currency was returned and no charges were filed. 

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft (Apple iPad). The iPad was taken from an unknown location sometime in October, 2011.

Driving under the influence

Robert White, 43, of the 2500 block of Bacon Ranch Road, Kileen, Texas, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and following too closely after police were summoned to a driving complaint in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. White was released on bond with a court date of March 2 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Ted Grochocki, 61, of the 1700 block of Rosemary Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control device after police were advised by a passer-by of a vehicle who almost caused an accident in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Grochocki was released on a bond with a court date of Feb. 24.

Matthew Moser, 25, of the 3700 block of Tramore Court, Naperville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding, uninsured motor vehicle, following too closely and possession of cannabis after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Moser was released on bond with a court date of March 2.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property (broken side window on vehicle and center console rummaged through) sometime between 2:45p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 20. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

While investigating a report of a criminal damage to property, a second vehicle was found with a broken side window. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park. Unknown if any items are missing from the vehicle.
