Police Blotter: Stolen iPad, Football Tickets

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Criminal damage to property

Marvin Martinez, 20, of the 2400 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property and consumption of alcohol by minor after police responded to the 400 block of Temple Avenue, Highland Park on a report of a subject breaking car windows in a parking lot.  Martinez was released on a cash bond with a court date of October 22, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.

Police are investigating a report of criminal trespass to property. It was reported that a gate along Buena Road (north side of lot) nearest the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road was chained and locked at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 1.  Upon return at 7:30 a.m., discovered chain missing and lock on ground with one cut link left behind.  Nothing was reported missing.

Theft from motor vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of theft from motor vehicle. It was reported that sometime in August, 2012 a catalytic converter was removed from a work vehicle (one truck) while parked in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Violation of order of protection

Michal Malysa, 35, of the 200 block of Middlebury Court, Schaumburg was arrested and charged with violation of order of protection after police responded to a complaint in the 1200 block of Crofton Avenue, Highland Park.  Malysa transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date. 

Theft

Police are investigating a report of theft. It was reported while staining the rear deck of a residence in the 900 block of Coventry Lane, a wallet was stolen from off a table sometime between 1pm and 5pm. Wallet contained two credit cards, an Illinois DL, cash, and an unknown number of checks.

Criminal damage to vehicle

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to vehicle. It was reported that a vehicle was scratched (keyed) on the trunk, drivers side front quarter panel, and drivers side passenger door while it was parked in a driveway in the 400 block of Beech Street, Highland Park between Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. andOct. 2 at 7 a.m. by unknown person(s).

Burglary from motor vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported a vehicle parked unlocked in the 2600 block of Marl Oak Drive, Highland Park between Sept. 28 and Oct. 1 was entered the vehicle and unknown person(s) removed a blue briefcase, an iPad, and eight college football tickets.

Driving under the influence

Rudy Corsini, 50, of the 1000 block of Forest, Deerfield was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and disobeying a traffic control device (stop sign) after being stopped by police near the intersection of Summit Avenue and Old Trail, Highland Park.  Corsini was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of November 16, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.

Thomas Walker, Jr., 28, of the 3100 block of 15th Street, Rockford was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a no turns sign after being stopped by police near the intersection of Half Day Road and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Walker, Jr. was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of November 2, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.
