Police Blotter: Stolen iPhone, iPad and iPod

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that a found wallet which had been stolen earlier unbeknownst to the wallet owner was missing cash, a Visa Saphire and two Chase debit cards upon recovery. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Walnut Place, Highland Park, Illinois.

Jose Garcia, 18, of the 700 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with theft police investigated the report of a stolen iPod touch, headphones and a calculator in the 400 of Vine Avenue, Highland Park. Garcia was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 12, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a purse was left unattended on a chair and was subsequently stolen. The purse contained three credit cards, an iPhone 4S. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Fredricksons Place, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that an Apple iPad has been missing from sometime between May 10, 2012 and May 25, 2012 The incident occurred in the 2100 block of Painters Lake Road, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a black iPhone 4s with black case was accidentally left in a washroom on top on paper towel dispenser. The victim returned approximately 15 minutes later to find it missing. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that on May 29, 2012 a wallet was removed from a desk drawer in a residence. The wallet contained currency and gift cards. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Havenwood, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that male, short blonde hair, about 5'6", thin build, wearing white t-shirt, khaki shorts, on a skateboard, stole five packs of cigarettes after showing ID. The attendant was ringing up the purchase when the subject left the business in the 700 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Driving while license revoked

Francisco Cruz-Ramirez, 31, of the 500 block of Michigan Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, cell phone usage while driving and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police near the intersection of Elm Place and Second Street, Highland Park. Cruz-Ramirez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 27, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Driving while license suspended

Ricardo Roman-Osoiro, 26, of the 6100 block of West School Street, Chicago, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police near the intersection of Clavey Road and Ridge Road, Highland Park. Roman-Osorio was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 27, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Conniemack Powers, 37, of the 2500 block of 29th Street, Zion, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Powers was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 11, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Driving under the influence

Sergio Hernandez, 31, of the 1300 block of Ridge Road, Highland Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, expired registration and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park. Hernandez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 6, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Tori Devito, 21, of the 300 block of West Caldwell, Round Lake, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and open transportation of alcohol after being stopped by police near the intersection of Applewood Court and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Devito was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 15, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Daniel Sanchez, 35, of the 1900 block of Grove Street, Blue Island, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and failure to signal lane change after police responded to a driving complaint near the intersection of Beverly Place and Princeton Avenue, Highland Park. Sanchez was released on a cash bond with a court date of June 22, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Jose Cruz Cervantez-Quintero, 27, of the 2700 block of Newland, Chicago, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, open transportation of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle, no valid drivers license and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Cruz Cervantez-Quintero was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 22, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Kyle Belcher, 22, of the 400 block of Bell Avenue, Dyersburg, Tennessee, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Belcher was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 29, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Commercial burglary

Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary. It was reported that an unknown subject broke into a business sometime between 5:45 p.m. on May 25, 2012 and 8:45 a.m. on May 26, 2012. The offender gained entry by throwing a large rock through a glass door on the south side of the business. Several tools including a Pro Line dustless sanding system, floor buffer, wet saw, tile cutters and edger were taken. The incident occurred in the 3100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park, Illinois.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle.  It was reported that an unknown person forcibly entered a vehicle by smashing the passenger side window. A black Chanel purse, green Louis Vuitton purse with shoulder strap, wallet containing a drivers license, various credit cards, cash, house / car keys. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Second Street, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft from Motor Vehicle.  It was reported that an unknown person entered a locked vehicle and removed the battery (wires cut) sometime between May 12, 2012 and May 29, 2012. No damage was noted to the vehicle. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Old Skokie Road, Highland Park. 

Possession of cannabis

Alejandro Chang, 27, of the 400 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, possession of cannabis and failure to wear seatbelt after being stopped by police in the 0-55 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Chang was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 27, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois. 

Jasmine Jones, 18, of the 38000 block of Cedar Avenue, Beach Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with speeding and possession of cannabis after being stopped by police in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Jones was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 11, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Domestic battery

Wilme Ochoa-Henry, 37, of the 400 block of Pleasant Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after police responded to a complaint of a dispute in the 400 block of Pleasant Avenue, Highland Park. Ochoa-Henry was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date. 

Criminal damage to vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to vehicle.  It was reported that an unknown person egged a vehicle parked in a driveway causing damage noticeable after a car wash sometime between May 27, 2012 at 6 p.m. and May 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. The incident occurred near Patten Road and Whistler Road, Highland Park. 

Robbery

On Wednesday evening, May 30, 2012, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Highland Park Police Officers responded to a report of a person in distress, calling for help.

Consumption of alcohol by minor

Nicholas Lovett, 19, of the 1100 block of North Waukegan Road, Deerfield, Illinois, was arrested and charged with consumption of alcohol by minor after police responded to a report of a suspicious person who had allegedly broken a bottle of alcohol in a business within the 1500 block of Clavey Road, Highland Park. Lovett was cited to administrative court at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park with a court date of June 21, 2012.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property.  Officers observed several trees toilet papered along St. Johns Avenue North of Vine Avenue, Highland Park. Windows on the east side of the High School were smeared with sour cream, marinara sauce, and pork and beans. Rear entrance of the school was struck by several eggs. No lasting damage to the noted.
