Police Blotter: Stolen iPhone, iPod; Grafitti

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Retail theft

Police are investigating the report of a theft where two males entered a business, distracted the clerk, stole a white iPhone 4S from a display and exchanged it with a Verizon iPhone 4S. The incident occurred in the 0-100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that an unknown person entered a locked locker on April 12 between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. and stole an iPod Nano and head phones and a set of keys. No damage to the locker was observed.  The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park, Illinois.

Burglary from motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported sometime overnight; unknown persons entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet from the dashboard area. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Bellevue Place, Highland Park.

Driving while license suspended

Hasna Hussain, 26, of the 1200 block of East Thurston Drive, Palatine, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and disobeying no right turn sign after being stopped by police near the intersection of Red Oak Lane and Stratford Road, Highland Park. Hussain was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 9, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Constantino Reyes, 46, of the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and failure to reduce speed after police were called to a report of a car accident in the 2300 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Reyes was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 9, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Jesus Martinez-Sanchez, 25, of the 300 block of Temple Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and no valid registration after being stopped by police near the intersection of Elm Place and Second Street, Highland Park. Martinez-Sanchez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Cesario Cox, 22, of the 1000 block of McDaniel Avenue, Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver after being stopped by police responding to a report of a driving complaint in the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Also charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver was passenger Blake Ross, 19, of the 2300 block of Greenwood Street, Evanston. Both Cox and Blake were transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date.

Disorderly conduct

David Bertucci, 42, of the 0-100 block of Leonard Wood North, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police were called to the report of a dispute in the 3000 block of Parkside Drive, Highland Park. Bertucci was released on a cash bond with a court date of May 9, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Craig Torum, 48, of the 1400 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police were called to the report of a noise complaint and dispute in the 1400 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. Torum was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 9, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Driving under the influence

Kenneth Williams, 26, of the 800 block of County Street, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended and disobeyed no turn signs after being stopped by police in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Williams was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 25, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Charmaine Moyer, 54, of the 1100 block of Oak Ridge, Glencoe, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated driving under the influence while transporting a child Under 16 years of age, improper lane usage and driving on the sidewalk after police responded to a motorist assist near the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Turnbull Woods Court, Highland Park. Moyer was transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date. 

Nicole Hoffman, 29, of the 5100 block of North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and uninsured motor vehicle after police responded to a report of a car accident in the 400 block of Simonds Way, Highland Park. Hoffman was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 4, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Martin Razo, 36, of the 0-100 block of Green Bay Road, Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, driving while license suspended and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of First Street, Highland Park. Razo was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 18, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Driving while license revoked

Luis Lopez, 29, of the 1700 block of McGovern Street, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage after being stopped by police near the intersection of Deerfield Road and McDaniels Avenue, Highland Park. Lopez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that gang related graffiti in silver and red spray paint was located in an alley way between Logan Street and Waukegan Avenue south of Bloom Street sprayed on a fence. 

While police were investigating a previous report of Criminal Damage to Property, Officer’s located additional gang related graffiti in silver and red spray paint on a fence in the 400 block of Bloom Street. 

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that both the rear window and front windshield of a vehicle was smashed sometime between 8 p.m. and 10:56 p.m. in the 2500 block of Western Avenue, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported sometime between April 12, 2012 and reporting date and time that three unknown words were located in purple spray paint approximately 3'X3' in size at approximately 10 p.m. in the alley of the 400 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park. 

While Police were investigating a previous report of Criminal Damage to Property, Officer’s located additional purple spray paint graffiti one unknown word 3'X3' in size in rear alley of the 1800 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park.

While Police were investigating a previous report of Criminal Damage to Property, Officer’s located additional purple spray paint graffiti on the east side of the handicap ramp, south foundation wall and south electrical box in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.  

Possession of cannabis

Marco Barete, 20, of the 2500 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis after police were patrolling the area near the intersection of Burtis Avenue and Trillium Lane, Highland Park and located a suspicious vehicle. Barete was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Consumption of alcohol by minor

Police responded to a report of a possible underage drinking party and dispute in the 2900 block of Warbler Avenue, Highland Park. Police located several juvenile and adult subjects and cited the following adult individuals with underage consumption of alcohol by minor: Marcus Guerrero, 19, of the 200 block of Washington Avenue, Highwood, Isaac Reyes, 20, of the 3500 block of Glen Flora, Waukegan, Jorge Limon, 18, of the 1600 block of 10th Court, Waukegan, Anna Gomez, 19, of the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue, Mundelein, and Jesus Bautista, 19, of the 500 block of North Central Highwood. Matthew Vatamaniuc, 19, of the 2900 block of Warbler Place, Highland Park was cited with consumption of alcohol by minor and activity constituting a public puisance. All subjects are expected in Administrative Court on May 17, 2012 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.
