Police Blotter: Stolen Latops, Car Parts

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Burglary

Police are investigating a burglary (laptops and equipment) sometime overnight between July 24 at 6 p.m. to July 25 at 11:15 a.m. in the 3100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a burglary (laptop) sometime over the weekend of July 22 through July 25 in the 3100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of burglary (glass frames, sunglasses, cash, computer and printer) sometime between 5:30 p.m. on July 23 and 10 a.m. on July 28 in the 600 block of Elm Place, Highland Park.

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft (hair product) sometime on July 18 or July 19 in the 1900 block of First Street, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of theft from motor vehicle (five catalytic converters) sometime over the weekend of July 22 through July 24 in the 3000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft (jewelry) sometime between December 25, 2010 and July 25, 2011 in the 1700 block of Beverly Place, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (cash) between 10:05 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Theft

Luis Sanchez, 24, of the 12000 block of New York Street in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with theft after police were called to the 1500 block of Clavey Road, Highland Park for a report of suspicious activity.  He was released on bond with a court date of August 10.

Police are investigating the report of a Theft (GPS) sometime between July 26 and July 31 in the 1300 block of Bob O Link Road, Highland Park.

Criminal damage

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to motor vehicle (keyed) on July 22 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the 700 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage (graffiti) in the 2000 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.

Driving while license suspended

Irving I. Fernandez-Bernal, 21, of the 1400 block of West Highland Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding after being stopped by the police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  He was released after posting bond with a court date of August 10.

Uriel Velazquez, 31, of the 2000 block of Menominee Road in Waukegan  was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, speeding and transportation of alcohol after being stopped by the police in the 2000 block of  Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  He was released on bond with a court date of September 14.

Driving under the influence

Jeannette S. Hernandez, 43, of the 1500 block of Franklin Avenue in River Forest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after being stopped by the police at Green Bay Road and Lake Cook Road, Highland Park.  She was released on bond with a court date of August 18.
