Police Blotter: Stolen Patio Table, Jewelry

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Driving while license suspended

Daniel Cruz-Santiaguilla, 22, of the 600 block of Homewood Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and making an improper turn after his vehicle was stopped by the police in the  600 block of Elm Place. He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Derrick O. Davis, 52, of the 12000 block of South Racine in Calumet Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended. Police also charged him with driving with a suspended registration for mandatory insurance near Ridge Road and Hybernia Drive. He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Estela Perez-Valencia, 24, of the 1700 block of McGovern Street in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to signal. Police made the stop in the 800 block of Central, Highland Park. Valencia was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Marwin Cruz-Perez, 29, of the 1300 block of West Fargo in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and another violation after his vehicle was stopped by police at Green Bay Road and Central Avenue. He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Thomas A. Hammerschmitt, 53, of the 120 block of Yost in Park Ridge, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police stopped his vehicle at Skokie Valley and Half Day roads.  He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Braulio Martinez, 26, of the 300 block of Palmer Avenue in Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended in the 800 block of Laurel Avenue. He was released on bond with a court date of May 25.

Theft

Police are investigating the theft of jewelry on April 25 in the 300 block of Orchard Lane.

Police are investigating the theft of a patio table and plastic chairs overnight from a home in the 1400 block of Central Avenue.

Driving under the influence

Jason J. Tompsidis, 27, of the 2900 block of Shannon Road in Northbrook, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding and screeching his vehicle's tires. Police made the stop in the 700 block of Park Avenue in Highland Park. He was released on bond with a court date of May 20.

Jeffrey Stephen Felgner, 27, of the 3500 block of Green Bay Road in North Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding and improper lane usage after police stopped his vehicle in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond with a court date of May 27.
