Police Blotter: Stolen Tools; Cannabis Possession

Also stolen cell phone and wallet in this week's police report.

The following items are provided by the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Theft

Police are investigating a theft of tools and equipment overnight in the 1700 block of Sunnyside Avenue.

Police are investigating a theft of a cell phone between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on June 22 in the 1000 block of Princeton Avenue.

Police are investigating a theft of a wallet between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. in the 500 block of Roger Williams Avenue, Highland Park.

Driving under the influence

Michael R. Dannenfeldt, 34, of the 1600 block of Cedar Glen in Libertyville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating of uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage after police stopped his vehicle in the 3400 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond and has a court date of Aug. 5.

Driving while license suspended

Chris J. Cohn, 33, of the 5000 block of East Calle Radonda in Phoenix, was arrested and charged with speeding and driving with a suspended license after his vehicle was stopped by police in the 1800 block of Cooper Lane. He was released on bond and has a court date of June 27.

Possession of cannabis

Joshua M. Weininger, 42, of the 1100 block of Deerfield Place in Highland Park, was  arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempted possession of controlled substance after police were called to the 1100 block of Deerfield Place to investigate a report of suspicious activity. Weininger was released on bond and has a court date of July 26.
