Police Blotter: Theft, Cannabis Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property.  It was reported that sometime in last two weeks, a vacant building was entered and property was damaged inside. Majority of damage was to office furniture and glass. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Old Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a Criminal Damage to Property.  It was reported that unknown subjects threw a rock through a window on a door of a business. The incident occurred in the 0-50 block of Ravine Drive, Highland Park, Illinois.

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that sometime between 3 p.m. on June 8 and 1 p.m. on June 9 a 300 gallon sealant spreading unit was removed from the bed of a 1982 Dodge Flatbed truck that was parked in the rear of a business located in the 200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a beach type bag was left unattended on a chair and a digital camera and credit card was subsequently stolen. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Fredricksons Place, Highland Park, Illinois.

Driving under the influence

Kendrick Thornton, 18, of the 1000 block of 24th Avenue, Bellwood, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, no valid drivers license and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road Road, Highland Park. Thornton was released on a cash bond with a court date of June 29, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

William Cora, 31, of the 2100 block of Pulaski Road, Chicago, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Cora was released on a cash bond with a court date of July 13, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Scott Bertucci, 44, of the 200 block of Michigan Avenue, Highwood, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Bertucci was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 6, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Stephanie Slavik, 27, of the 700 block of Jackson Street, Waukegan, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Slavik was transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois due to having an outstanding warrant from Lake County Sheriff. Court date is pending. 

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Peter Couvall, 27, of the 200 block of Brampton Lane, Lake Forest, Illinois, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by police for speeding in the 1000 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park. Couvall was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 27, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Possession of cannabis

Jacob Portugal, 18, of the 1800 block of Clavey Road, Highland Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and disobeyed a stop sign after being stopped by police in the 100 block of Ridge Road, Highland Park. Portugal was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 25, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan, Illinois.
