Police Charge Waukegan Man for Sexual Assault in Highland Park
Man allegedly assaulted Evanston woman outside of Denny's last Thursday.
A 25-year-old Waukegan man was arrested last Thursday and charged with sexually assaulting an Evanston woman in the parking lot of in Highland Park.
The 39-year-old woman told police she was assaulted in her vehicle while she was parked in front of the restaurant at about 2:30 a.m. on June 16, according to a news release issued by the Highland Park Police Department. After the attack, the woman drove herself to Evanston Hospital, where she was treated for injuries she sustained during the assault.
The report states that investigators identified the alleged offender and obtained a warrant for his arrest. The suspect, Nsoni Mpulamakaka, of the 1300 block of South White Oak Drive, was taken into custody last Thursday at 4:40 p.m.

Mpulamakaka was transported to the Lake County Courthouse, and his bond was set at $500,000. He was remanded to the Lake County Jail. His next court date is July 11.
