Police: Highland Park Man Tried to Strike People Down in Stolen Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The information below comes from the Highland Park Police Department.

Aggravated assault and battery

May 29:  Richard Boyd (34) of the 2700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a stolen auto and Candace Brown (28) of the 1200 block of S 55th Court, Cicero, Illinois was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after police responded to a report of a fight in progress. 

Police located Boyd who had stolen a vehicle, was driving over lawns attempting to strike people with it near the intersection of Walker Avenue and St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.  Both Boyd and Brown were transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date.

Criminal damage to property
May 27: Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that the rear windshield of a  Black Mazda 6 was smashed by an unknown object  sometime between 9:00pm on May 26th and 10:00am on May 27th. Nothing was taken from vehicle. The incident occurred in the 3400 block of Dato Avenue, Highland Park. 

May 29:  Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime in the last 2 weeks an unknown subject broke a window on the west side of a garage in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.  Since May 28th at approximately 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM on 05/29/13 graffiti 7'X4' purple and orange paint with unreadable print was painted on the same side as the broken window.  Nothing appears to be missing from the garage.

Theft

May 28:  Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that red tool box containing various tools is missing from an unlocked building. The theft occurred sometime over the weekend. The incident occurred in the 1200 Clavey Road, Highland Park. 

Residential burglary:  Police are investigating a report of a residential burglary. It was reported that a homeowner returned home to find an upstairs bedroom window screen ripped and a black Lenovo laptop computer missing. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Hyacinth Place, Highland Park.
