City Works To Clear Snow As It Falls

In addition to the 10 plows, the city has four trucks out helping clear snow, according to Public Works Director Mary Anderson.

Contractors are handling the city parking lots and plowing and shoveling the city's sidewalks, Anderson added.

As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, Central Avenue seems relatively clear for driving, though stores along the street like have a wall of snow lining them.

The snow clearing crews work in 12-hour shifts, according to TribLocal, so the daytime shift won’t be relieved by another crew until about 11 p.m. Friday, Anderson said.

Snowfall is expected to continue until midnight Friday.
