Speeding Driver Stopped, Passenger Gets Arrested

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park and Deerfield Police Departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Possession of Controlled Substance, Cannabis 

Martwan Butler, 30, of Chicago was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis after a vehicle Butler was a passenger in was stopped for speeding in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. Butler was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. Sometime on Oct. 8 between 2:45 and 4:45 p.m., an unknown subject entered a business and removed two victims’ wallets from an upstairs office.  Both wallets contained cash, credit cards and driver's license. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Laurel Avenue, according to Highland Park Police reports.

Domenic Nerini, 45 of Highland Park was arrested Oct. 7 and charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and speeding after police investigated a delayed report of an accident that occurred at the intersection of Richfield Avenue and Deerfield Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court Nov. 13 in Park City.

Harlan Breger, 60, of Highland Park was arrested Sunday and charged with driving while license suspended and use of wireless device while driving after being stopped by police near the intersection of Ravine Drive and St. Johns Avenue, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Nov. 13 in Park City.
