Three Charged With Residential Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Residential burglary

Marco Barete, 21, of the 2500 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park, Patrick Castellanos, 19, of the 1600 block of Shermer Road, Northbrook and Alan Rodriguez, 19, of the 2700 block of Lauretta Place, Highland Park were arrested and charged with residential burglary after police responded to a homeowner’s report that there were three individuals inside his residence attempting to remove items. The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Port Clinton Road, Highland Park. Barete, Castellanos and Rodriguez were transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court dates.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a retail theft. It was reported that sometime between July 13, 2012 and July 16, 2012, a large amount of merchandise that was known to be on display was reported missing. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a retail theft. It was reported that a female entered a changing room with clothing and an iPod cover then left without purchasing anything. The iPod cover and two items of clothing were later found missing. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of First Street, Highland Park, Illinois.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported unknown suspects utilized black spray paint and tagged graffiti on a wooden spilt rail type fence on the Green Bay Trail, approximately 20 feet north of the Mulberry Place bridge.  The graffiti was on the top rail of the fence.

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime between July 19, 2012 and July 20, 2012 a window at the rear of a home was broken by unknown means. No attempts to gain access to home through window were reported. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Clifton Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Possession of cannabis

Chauncey Hardnick, 23, of the 2700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois, was arrested and charged with possession of Cannabis after being stopped by police near the intersection of Elm Place and Green Bay Road, Highland Park. Hardnick was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 8, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Theft from motor vehicle

Officers located a GPS unit while investigating a Residential Burglary. It was found that two unlocked vehicles had been rummaged through while parked in a driveway in the 2700 block Port Clinton Road, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that sometime overnight unknown persons entered an unlocked vehicle and removed two pairs of glasses, radar detector, baseball mitt, set of golf clubs and an iPod touch. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Beverly Place, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that sometime overnight unknown persons entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a Balenaga leather purse, Tom Ford sunglasses and various cosmetics. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Princeton Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Disorderly conduct

Benjamin Domb, 36, of the 1700 block of Hermitage Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after Domb failed to obey a Police order while attending Ravinia Festival, 201 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. Domb was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 22, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Criminal trespass to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a criminal trespass to motor vehicle. It was reported that sometime overnight unknown persons entered an unlocked vehicle and tossed the contents of the glove box, center console and change drawer. No items were taken. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Clifton Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Driving under the influence

Sebastian Stock, 22, of the 700 block of Prairie Avenue, Wilmette, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of cannabis and headlight violation after being stopped by police in the 1000 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park. Stock was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 10, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Uriel Pena-Vargas, 25, of the 2500 block of 9th Parkway, Waukegan, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, suspended registration, uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and no valid drivers license after being stopped by police near the intersection of Midlothian Avenue and Park Avenue West, Highland Park. Pena-Vargas was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 24, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Jose Gonzalez, 23, of the 1300 block of Jackson Street, North Chicago, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, failure to signal lane change and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Gonzalez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 24, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Jeffrey Kibonge, 26, of the 400 block of Martin, Waukegan, Illinois, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Kibonge was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 24, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Theft

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a wallet was stolen from an unlocked locker and credit cards were reported to have fraudulent activity on them. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported while moving into an apartment an unknown person stole three boxes after they were left unattended in the lobby of the apartment complex. The three boxes taken contained a Hewlett Packard printer, checkbook, credit cards and various business documents. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Lake Cook Road, Highland Park. 

Criminal damage to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to motor vehicle. It was reported that sometime overnight unknown persons pried the rear hatch area of a vehicle parked in a driveway within the last 2 days. A set of keys with an electronic pass code was left in the pried door frame which did not belong to the reporting person. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Clifton Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.
