Three iPhones Stolen in One Week

The information below was provided by the Highland Park Police Department.

Criminal burglary

Police are investigating a delayed report of a commercial burglary. It was reported that unknown person(s) entered a locked storage container and removed three chainsaws, one Stihl 24" and two Echo 16" sometime between Jan. 20 at 8 a.m. and Jan. 22 at 9:42 a.m. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Old Skokie Road, Highland Park.

Possession of cannabis

Amy Netzel, 24, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Avenue, Glenview, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. Netzel was released on a cash bond with a court date of February 13, 2013 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Theft under $500

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that an Apple iPhone was lost sometime between 2:40 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. on Jan. 22. It is unknown where the phone was lost.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of burglary to motor vehicle. A white iPhone 5 was taken from an unlocked vehicle by an unknown person(s) on Jan. 18  sometime between 3:02 p.m. and 4:06 p.m. while parked in the 1700 block of Second Street, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating a delayed report of burglary to motor vehicle. An unknown person(s) gained access to a landscape trailer which was parked in the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. One weedwacker and one leaf blower were taken.  The incident occurred sometime between 01/11/13 and 01/23/13.  Access was gained to lot by cutting the fence. 

Theft over $500

A minor was arrested and charged with theft over $500 for allegedly stealing an iPhone, iPad and clothing from a residence in the 800 block of Marion Avenue, Highland Park between 12/28/12 and 1/24/13. The minor was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date. 

Driving under the influence

Doretha Shingleton, 29, of the 1400 block of Winslowe, Palatine was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, improper lane usage and uninsured motor vehicle after police responded to a report of a single car accident in the 1100 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.  Shingleton was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of February 15, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Mikhail Sherman, 63, of the 200 block of Lake Boulevard, Buffalo Grove was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and disobeying a stop sign after being stopped by police in the 700 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.  Sherman was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of February 15, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Rosa Rangel, 29, of the 3800 block of Grandview Avenue, Gurnee was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Rangel was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of March 1, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Jorge Gomez, 31, of the 5400 block of West 24th Place, Cicero was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, improper land usage and no rear registration lights illuminated after being stopped by police near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Deerfield Road, Highland Park.  Gomez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of March 8, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Domestic battery

Cesar Castrejon-Camarena, 29, of the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park was arrested on an outstanding warrant for domestic battery which occurred on January 11, 2013.  Castrejon-Camarena was released on a cash bond with a court date of February 8, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.
