Traffic Stop, Dispute Lead to Pot Charges

An 18-year-old was also arrested for consumption of alcohol and stopping traffic.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

Melanie Frank, 24, of Highland Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and disobeying a stop sign after being stopped by police in the 1100 block of Sheridan Road at 10:30 a.m. April 29. Frank was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 11.

Jonathan Matsuda, 29, of Highland Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 3 a.m. April 30 after police investigated a report of a dispute that had occurred in the 2800 block of Summit Avenue. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 28.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT / CONSUMPTION OF ALCHOL BY MINOR

Adam Alverado, 18, of Highwood, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and consumption of alcohol by a minor after police responded to a report of a subject walking in traffic stopping cars near the intersection of First Street and Laurel Avenue at 7:45 p.m. April 29. Alverado was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 29.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Jorina Miller, 32, of Skokie, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road at 3:30 a.m. May 1. Miller was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 11.

Wenceslao Martinez, 38, of Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West at 8 p.m. May 2. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 28.
