Two Arrested for Criminal Sexual Abuse

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Financial identity theft

Jeffrey Youkhana, 24, of the 8800 block of N. Washington, Niles, was arrested on August 16 at 2:32 a.m. and charged with financial identity theft after police investigated the previously reported theft of champagne incident on August 10. Youkhana was transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date. 

Motor vehicle theft

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a work truck and trailer were stolen at sometime over the weekend, possibly on Sunday August 12 at about 8:30 a.m. The vehicle is a Red Ford F350 1 ton dump truck towing a red trailer. The lock on the front gate to a lot in the 2300 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park was cut to gain entry. 

Burglary to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported sometime between 9:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. on reported date unknown persons entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway. Items were tossed in the car but nothing appeared missing. Two other cars parked in the drive, one was locked and not entered and the second unlocked vehicle was entered, unknown at reporting time if anything is missing from the vehicle. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Crofton Avenue, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported an open garage had been entered overnight along with the cars inside the garage. Car and office keys are missing. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Crofton Avenue, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that three subjects had broken the front passenger side door glass, entered and unlocked a van and stole several power tools from a vehicle parked overnight in the 1600 block of Old Deerfield Road, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating a report of a Burglary from Motor Vehicle. It was reported a vehicle was entered sometime overnight on August 17. The vehicle had multiple tools taken.  It was parked in the driveway in the 500 block of Barberry Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported a vehicle had its windows broken and a purse including cash, jewelry and keys taken.  The vehicle was parked in the 1220 block of Fredrickson’s Place, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported sometime between 11:15 a.m. and 4:31 p.m. a vehicle had its window broken and a purse including keys, cash and credit cards taken. The vehicle was parked in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park.

Consumption of alcohol by minor

Police responded to the 0-100 block of Sycamore Place, Highland Park for a loud noise complaint. Police located several individuals and juveniles on scene. Jacob Zahn, ,19, of the 1600 block of Strath Erin, Highland Park, Nathan Echt, 18, of the 2900 block of Priscilla Avenue, Highland Park and Gregory Lance, 18, of the 2000 block of Clavey Road, Highland Park were issued an administrative citations for minor in consumption of alcohol with a court date of Sept. 6 at 3 p.m. at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. 

Driving under the influence

Agustin Rodriguez-Velazquez, 33, of the 400 block of Green Bay Road, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Rodriguez-Velazquez was released on a cash bond with a court date of September 7, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

While police responded to a well being check, Michael W. Benson, 52, of the 3400 block of E. Mardan Drive, Long Grove was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and illegal transportation of alcohol in the 400 block of Cedar Avenue, Highland Park.  Benson was released on a recognizance bond with a court date of September 7, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Cordarro D. Harris, 25, of the 12600 block of S. Marshfield Street, Calumet Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, speeding, failure to signal and unlawful use of a weapon after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Harris was released on a recognizance bond with a court date of September 14, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Edward L. Barnes, 32, of the 2500 block of Village Park, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol, and operating uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Barnes was released on a cash bond with a court date of September 14, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Cynthia S. Martinez, 27, of the 4300 block of S. Honore, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police at Skokie Valley Road and Clavey Road, Highland Park. Martinez was released on a recognizance bond with a court date of September 7, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Luis A. Alonso, 28, of the 800 block of Edgewood Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, speeding, no valid driver’s license, failure to obey a traffic control device and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 3000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Alonso was released on a cash bond with a court date of September 28, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Criminal sexual abuse

Kevin Rosendo, 19, of the 3300 block of Krenn Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged on a Highland Park Warrant with four counts of criminal sexual abuse from a case originally reported on July 21, 2012. Rosendo was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, pending court date. 

Aggravated criminal sexual abuse

Lukas Carlson, 21, of the 600 block of Onwentsia Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged on a Highland Park Warrant with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse from a case originally reported on July 28, 2012. Carlson was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, pending court date. 

Possession of cannabis

Lynn posted a cash bond and was released pending a court date on August 30, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that at approximately 3:30 a.m. on August 17, a white Samsung Galaxy s3 was stolen while the reporting party was working at a restaurant in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a phone in a bag was stolen between 8:35 a.m. and 8:58 a.m. on August 17. The phone was left unsecured in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime between 8 a.m. on August 6 at and 1:22 p.m. on August 13, an unknown subject damaged a chain link fence and a cedar fence in the 2000 block of Painters Lake Road, Highland Park.
