Wallet Theft Leads to Drug Charge on 2nd Street

Three teens were also charge with possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia.

BURGLARY / THEFT / POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

Police responded to a business in the 1800 block of Second Street for a report of a theft of a wallet at 4:30 p.m. on March 24. Corey Lofton, 45, and Andrea Dillon, 43, both of Chicago were charged with burglary and theft under $500. Eric Newell, 52, also of Chicago, was arrested and charged with burglary, theft under $500 and possession of cannabis. All three were transported to bond court and remanded on a $100,000 bond pending court date.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Gregory Levine, 51, of Highland Park, was arrested and charged with domestic battery and interference with reporting a domestic battery after police responded to a call requesting a check for well being in the area of the 1600 block of Lake Cook Road at 3:30 a.m. March 26. Levine was transported to 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Jorge Herrera, Jr., 18, of Highwood, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance while in the 400 block of Vine Avenue at 3 p.m. March 26. Herrera, Jr. was transported to 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date.

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

Phillip Maione, 19, of Highland Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol by minor and only one headlight illuminated after being stopped by police in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road at 3:30 a.m. March 29. Maione was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 14.

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Apollon Tomacic-Niaros, 19, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road at 1 a.m. March 30. Nunez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 14.
