Well Being Check Leads to Drug Bust

Possession of a Controlled Substance
Jeffrey Hammer, 39, of Deerfield was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a request to check the well being of a subject in the 1500 block of Clavey Road, according to Highland Park Police reports.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that unknown person entered an unsecured work van while it was parked unoccupied in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. Friday and stole a work bag containing various work tools, according to Highland Park Police reports.

Miguel Alonso-Sanchez, 34, of Highwood was arrested Dec. 30 and charged with driving while license suspended and failure to reduce speed after police responded to an accident near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Vine Avenue, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Jan. 22 in Park City.
