Woman Arrested for DUI Near High School

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI 

Joni Elder, 49, of Long Grove was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence after being stopped by police near the intersection of Vine Avenue and Green Bay Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. Elder was released on bond is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Oct. 11 in Waukegan. 

Criminal Damage to Property

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property, according to Highland Park Police reports. It was reported that graffiti was found sprayed on the far southwest wall of a building in the 3500 block of Patten Road Sept. 11. The writing did not appear to be gang related.

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft reported Sept.10 of a collection of rare coins after a moving company was hired to move items into a house, according to Highland Park Police reports. The theft occurred in the 200 block of Hastings Avenue.

Driver’s License Infractions and More 

Erika Cejeda, 24, of Waukegan was arrested Sept. 12 and charged with driving while license suspended and expired registration after being stopped by police near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Park Avenue West, according to Highland Park Police reports. She was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Oct. 23 in Park City.
