Woman Steals Coat from Downtown Merchant

Retail Theft

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that an unknown female entered Uncle Dan's in the 600 block of Central Avenue Dec. 29 and stole a woman's winter coat and three pairs of socks, according to Highland Park Police reports.


Police are investigating a report of a theft of lost or mislaid property. It was reported that a wallet was dropped Dec. 26 in the Target parking lot and was taken by an unknown person. The wallet contained numerous credit cards, driver’s license and cash, according to Highland Park Police reports.

I don't think they were stealing a coat for warmth. Likely more to do with the fact that they sell $500 coats and its fairly easy to put a coat on and pretend its the one you walked in with.
