The information below comes from the City of Highland Park.

The City of Highland will host its first Business Summit this fall on October 2, 2013 at the Highland Park Country Club.

From 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. attendees will learn about the City’s initiatives and strategic work plan, discuss targeted industries and traditional growth sectors, and listen to the ideas and insights of their peers, business leaders and community stakeholders on the next steps towards continued economic excellence in Highland Park.

The Highland Park Business Summit is designed to bring community stakeholders together to discuss trends and challenges in the marketplace as well as to encourage collaboration towards new ideas to facilitate economic growth and business opportunities within Highland Park.

“This summit will serve as an extension of the work we are doing to foster communication and collaboration with our businesses and property owners,” Mayor Nancy R. Rotering said. “It will be an excellent opportunity for our community to learn about economic trends, discuss the economic climate and shape long-term City economic development policy.”

The event will be free to the public, although registration is required. Registration is set to open on August 15 and will be made available through www.cityhpil.com/BusinessSummit.
