North Shore Sanitary District Trustee Dan Pierce will be honored for nearly half a century of public service at a reception, 5-7 p.m., Sunday, Nov, 27, at the Highland Park County Club, 1201 Park Avenue West.
The event is hosted by State Sen. Susan Garrett, State Rep. Karen May, Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering and retired U.S. Congressman and Federal Appellate Judge Abner Mikva, who served in the Illinois General Assembly with Trustee Pierce in the 1960s.
Trustee Pierce, the current 10th District Democratic State Central Committeeman, served as a State Representative from 1965-1985 and as Mayor of Highland Park for three terms. He has been a member of the Sanitary District Board since 2004 and is running for re-election next year.
