The Washington Post has described U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar as a “rising star,” and The New York Times included her in a list of the 17 women most likely to become the first female President of the United States.  Serving in Minnesota’s congressional delegation with Sen. Al Franken, she is widely noted for her exceptional work in bringing innovative agendas to Congress, despite the obstacle of also serving with Rep. Michele Bachmann!! This is not an event you want to miss!

As Democrats prepare for the November 2012 election, the Tenth Congressional District Democrats continues to locate and motivate volunteers.  Just last month, we hosted a jam-packed Tenth Dems University (TDU) event with John Nichols, Washington correspondent of The Nation magazine and frequent MSNBC contributor.  After speaking to Tenth Dems activists at the Glenview Public Library, Nichols was a guest on the nationally-syndicated Thom Hartmann radio program and praised our grassroots efforts.

The Annual Fundraiser is the next step in a year of exciting events and organizational successes. Last spring, Tenth Dems hosted hundreds of Democratic activists at our Spring Event and Candidate Appreciation Celebration, which featured U.S. Senator Mark Begich  (D-AK), as well as Hon. Lena Taylor, a member of the Wisconsin 14, the group of state senators who fled the state to protect collective bargaining rights.  We opened a new kind of political office in downtown Waukegan, the Community Connection, and co-sponsored a grassroots training program with Former Gov. Howard Dean (D-VT) in Lincolnshire.

We are a vital force in building, informing, and sustaining a strong Democratic Party infrastructure across the district.
